Thomas Yang

Thomas was born in Laos and grew up in Thailand and Minnesota. Thomas currently resides in St. Paul, Minnesota with his spouse MJ Lor and kids. He holds Bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in Public Administration. He has been a leader and advocate in his community since 2000. He had over 7 years of interpreting and translating experience and he has received leadership awards from Hmong Language Institute of Minnesota, Hmong Youth Leadership Project, a program of Ready4 K., and continuously to receive ongoing leadership training from STEEP and variety of outside sources. He is fluent in both Hmong and English. He is the first full time "Tobacco Educator" ever in the history of Hmong in the United States of America and he is a Certified Prevention Professional (CPP).
