About:
The Fall Regional Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) Forums will take place at various locations throughout Minnesota between August 26 and October 20. Rick Moldenhauer, LADC from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division will present on alcohol and other drug data from the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Normative Evaluation System (DAANES) and Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) data sources to show trends and associations with substance use and behavior. There will be a networking lunch and a discussion facilitated by the Regional Prevention Coordinators on how to use the information presented to make a difference in your community.
Participant Objectives:
1) Look at the DAANES data for 0-18 year olds and 19-24 year olds and alcohol and other drug use in treatment centers.
2) Compare the DAANES data for 0-18 year olds and 19-24 year olds with the Minnesota Student Survey Results (9th and 12th graders from 2007 and 2010).
3) Look at associations with substance abuse and behavior based on DAANES and Minnesota Student Survey.
4) Connect with others in the substance abuse prevention field and take back ideas on how to use the data information to serve your community.
5) Network with others in the substance abuse prevention field and with your Regional Prevention Coordinator, a resource for you as you work in your communities.
