National Prevention Week 2012 will be held May 20 to May 26, 2012, and will embrace the theme, “We are the ones. How are you taking action?”
Abigail Gewirtz, Ph.D., L.P. is a professor in the Department of Family Social Science and the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Gewirtz's research focuses on implementation and dissemination of evidence-based prevention interventions, especially those focusing on parenting and children exposed to violence, homelessness, and related traumatic stressors.
This workshop will explore the associations between bullying and alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; suicide ideation; family violence; and relationships.
Craig Nakken, well-known author, trainer and family therapist in private practice is scheduled to present “Reclaim your Family from Addiction.” He will be at the Wayzata Community Church Tuesday, May 22 from 9am -4:30pm.
