Prescription drugs have become one of the most abused controlled substances by adults and teens in our community. On behalf of the East Metro Crime Prevention Coalition (a coalition of prosecution and law enforcement in the east metro counties of Dakota, Ramsey and Washington), we would like to invite you or another representative from your organization to attend a Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Forum scheduled for February 28, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to Noon in the Dakota Lodge at Thompson Park in West St. Paul.
Attendees include: Law Enforcement (patrol, crime prevention, SRO’s), School Staff, Addiction and Treatment Professionals, Pharmacists, Medical Providers, Criminal Justice Agencies, and Public Health Officials.
This forum will provide an opportunity for professionals from various backgrounds to dialogue about prescription drug practices, addiction and treatment as well as prevention efforts. We will discuss trends and ways in which law enforcement is working to be a part of the solution and look at ways to fight this crime in the future.
