Violence Prevention: Achievement Award for Health Care Organizations
The Governor's Task Force on Violence as a Public Health Problem and the Health Care Coalition on Violence announce the formation of an achievement award for health care organizations involved with the prevention, intervention and treatment of violence. The purpose of this award is to institutionalize violence prevention and intervention in the health care community. Doctors and nurses are in a unique position to impact the lives of their patients. Not only do they mend the wounds caused by violence, but they can also prevent and intervene before it occurs. This award will provide local and statewide recognition for those organizations who successfully achieve a standard of violence prevention in their organizations. Health care organizations interested in applying have until November 1, 1998 to achieve a set of milestones. An application is available by contacting the Health Care Coalition on Violence at 612-576-1825.
