Vividly portrays the impact of chemical dependency on the family as three young lives are ravaged by a father's alcoholism and a mother's inability to cope. A listing of helpful resources follows the dramatic presentation.

Take Action on Five Policies America Must Adopt to Reduce and Prevent Substance Abuse
The key to the success of preventing or reducing substance abuse lies in having national and local policies that support community efforts. With this in mind, Join Together recently convened a policy panel to help determine what the nation's policies should be to reduce substance abuse. Single print copies are FREE. This multimedia campaign is designed to prevent and reduce marijuana use. Get the full community action kit at http://www.health.org. The cornerstone of the Reality Check campaign is a new, free booklet entitled Keeping Youth Drug-Free: A Guide for Parents, Grandparents, Elders, Mentors, and Other Caregivers. Making the Grade: A Guide to School Drug Prevention Programs

Hennepin County Medical Center Wins National Award for Mock Crash Scenario
Last year HCMC staged The Mock Crash Scenario: A Disaster to Remember, which won the 1996 NACO award. 500 students witnessed the collaborative efforts involved in rescuing victims of a drunk driving crash, viewed the deadly consequences, and heard the story of a spinal cord injury survivor.
