Prevention Certification

Become a CPP...it's as easy as ABC!

Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) Requirements:

  • Completion of SAPS course
  • Signed prevention code of ethics.
  • Forty hours of continuing education every three years for recertification.

Certified Prevention Professional Advanced (CPPA) Requirements:

  • Completion of SAPS course (not required if your are grandparented in)
  • Forty hours of continuing education within the last 5 years which includes (not required if grandparented in):
  1. Twelve hours of drug addiction education.
  2. Six hours in prevention ethics.
  3. The remaining 22 hours in ATOD prevention.
  • Signed prevention code of ethics.
  • 2,000 hours of paid ATOD prevention work experience.
  • Pass the IC & RC prevention written exam.
  • Forty hours of continuing education every 3 years for recertification.
