Prevention Certification

Become a CPP...it's as easy as ABC!

Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) Requirements:

  1. Completion of SAPS course.
  2. Signed prevention code of ethics.
  3. 40 hours of continuing education every 3 years for recertification.

Certified Prevention Professional Advanced (CPPA) Requirements:

  1. Completion of SAPS course (not required if your are grandparented in)
  2. 40 hours of continuing education within the last 5 years which includes (not required if grandparented in):
    1. 12 hours of drug addiction education.
    2. 6 hours in prevention ethics.
    3. The remaining 22 hours in ATOD prevention.
  3. Signed prevention code of ethics.
  4. 2,000 hours of paid ATOD prevention work experience.
  5. Pass the IC & RC prevention written exam.
  6. 40 hours of continuing education every 3 years for recertification.
