Come Join Us!Welcome to the 2005 Spring Regional ATOD ForumsBack by popular demand, the Spring Regional ATOD Forums will take place at various locations throughout Minnesota in March, April and May. Content will be the same at each forum-the majority of the day will feature a presenter from the Minnesota Department of Education on the topic of Minnesota Student Survey data, while a small portion of the afternoon will cover the Safe and Drug Free Schools (SDFS) e-application for SDFS Coordinators and planning teams. A nonrefundable fee of $20 must be received in advance. This fee covers program material, meeting space reservation and lunch. Registration deadline is one week prior to the forum you wish to attend. Staff from the Minnesota Prevention Resource Center and the Minnesota Department of Human Services' Chemical Health Division will be available at the workshop to provide resources and technical assistance. For more information, contact Kevin Spading at 763-427-5310 - ext. 142, 800-782-1878 or kspading@miph.org 9:00-2:00 - Presenting, Pondering and Planning with Minnesota Student Survey Data The Minnesota Student Survey county data tables are compiled and available for download at this site. But, once you've looked at the statewide data tables-now what? Join us for a day-long workshop intended to build your capacity to think about the Minnesota Student Survey, present data to your local community and incorporate what you've learned into your prevention planning and needs assessment work. We'll examine 30 key indicators from the student survey; discuss context and meaning of these data; and compare local, regional and statewide data. We'll brainstorm and challenge your notions of how to present these data to schools and community organizations. Finally, we'll talk about collaboration and how to use materials, including state and regional data tables, trend reports and tools to use in your presentations and planning. We encourage you to bring a team of individuals from your community-perhaps the Safe and Drug Free Schools coordinator, teachers and administrators, local public health and community agency staff, a law enforcement officer and a parent. Youth are also welcome to attend! 12:00-12:30 - Lunch 2:15-3:30 - Safe and Drug Free Schools (SDFS) - E-application for SDFS Coordinators and Planning Teams 2005 Spring Regional ATOD Forums9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Please email Debra Russell- drussell@miph.org to register.
